When it comes to internet, cookies have a whole new meaning. A cookie is actually a small file left behind on your computer by an internet site.
The cookie contains information about you and your interaction with that Web site, like which pages you visited and what your e-mail address is (if you chose to enter it). When you return to that site, it can read the information in the cookie to give you content you'll like, and automatically log you in. Cookies sound like a good thing, but they can decrease the security of your computer. Your browser allows you to choose whether or not to accept cookies, so it's up to you. Just be aware that some sites can't work properly unless you say "yes" to cookies.
