My Heart Has a Mind of Its Own

People try and tell me that its crazy
You and I were never meant to be
I don't believe they know, and even if its so
I'm fallen anyway, no matter what they say.

Refrain:
A part of me is taking me by the hand
The world can't see, still they can't understand
Why can't they understand. . . .

Chorus:
My heart has a mind of its own
Right or wrong it's gonna do
Only what it feel is true
I'll follow it where ever it goes
Anywhere it leads me to
My heart has a mind of its own.

Maybe we wont always be together
Maybe this'll last a thousand years
Ain't nobody knows, and even if they did
It wouldn't matter now
I'd love you anyhow.

Repeat Refrain and Chorus

My heart knows what I'm needing
My heart knows what I'm feeling
It knows me better than I know myself
My heart knows just what I'm missin'
All I have to do is listen
And listen well. . . .

Repeat Chorus

Rainbow

If I could catch a rainbow
I would do it just for you.
And share with you it's beauty
On the days you're feeling blue.
If I could build a mountain
You could call your very own.
A place to find serenity
A place to be alone.
If I could take your troubles
I would toss them in the sea.
But all these things I'm finding
are impossible for me,
I cannot build a mountain
Or catch a rainbow fair
But let me be...what I know best,
a friend that's always there.
~Khahlil Gibran~

Fun Valentine Facts

Over one billion Valentine cards are delivered in the U.S.
Worldwide, over 50 million roses
are given on this one day alone.
Some people used to believe that if a woman saw a robin flying overhead on Valentine's Day, it meant she would marry a sailor. If she saw a sparrow, she would marry a poor man and be very happy. If she saw a goldfinch, she would marry a millionaire
.
In the Middle Ages, young men and women drew names from a bowl to see who their valentine would be. They would wear these names on their sleeves for one week. To "wear your heart on your sleeve" now means that it's easy for other people to know how you're feeling

to GOD

Thank you for the gift of life,
For letting me be me,
For all that I can know by words
And all that I can see,
For all the music I can hear
And all the songs I sing,
For all the joy that comes to me
And all the joy I bring,

For all the food that I can taste
And all the sweet scents smell,
For all the loved ones I can touch,
Who love and wish me well,

For all the beauty of the world,
Ever fresh and new,
I don't know whom else I can thank,
And so I'm thanking you.

History of Valentine's Day

Every February, across the country, candy, flowers, and gifts are exchanged between loved ones, all in the name of St. Valentine. But who is this mysterious saint and why do we celebrate this holiday?

The history of Valentine's Day -- and its patron saint -- is shrouded in mystery. But we do know that February has long been a month of romance. St. Valentine's Day, as we know it today, contains vestiges of both Christian and ancient Roman tradition.

So, who was Saint Valentine and how did he become associated with this ancient rite? Today, the Catholic Church recognizes at least three different saints named Valentine or Valentinus, all of whom were martyred. One legend contends that Valentine was a priest who served during the third century in Rome.. When Emperor Claudies II decided that single men made better soldiers than those with wives and families, he outlawed marriage for young men -- his crop of potential soldiers. Valentine, realizing the injustice of the decree, defied Claudius and continued to perform marriages for young lovers in secret. When Valentine's actions were discovered, Claudius ordered that he be put to death. Other stories suggest that Valentine may have been killed for attempting to help Christians escape harsh Roman prisons where they were often beaten and tortured.

According to one legend, Valentine actually sent the first 'valentine' greeting himself. While in prison, it is believed that Valentine fell in love with a young girl -- who may have been his jailor's daughter -- who visited him during his confinement. Before his death, it is alleged that he wrote her a letter, which he signed 'From your Valentine,' an expression that is still in use today. Although the truth behind the Valentine legends is murky, the stories certainly emphasize his appeal as a sympathetic, heroic, and, most importantly, romantic figure. It's no surprise that by the Middle Ages, Valentine was one of the most popular saints in England and France.

What I've Learned..

I've learned that you should always leave loved ones with loving words. It may be the last time you see them.
I've learned that you can keep going long after you can't.
I've learned that we are responsible for what we do, no matter how we feel.
I've learned that either you control your attitude or it controls you.
I've learned that heroes are the people who do what has to be done when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences.

~Friendship is not how long you've been together. It isn't how much you've given or recieved; nor how many times you've helped each other, but it's how you value one another~
